The Kuenhof is an ancient farm with an adjoining farm over 800 years old, it became the property of the Pliger family about 200 ago. Until 1990 the grapes of the approximately 6 ha of vineyards were transferred to the Abbey of Novacella, then vinified and sold on their own. At the end of the 90s another important turning point with the transition to organic. The steep terraced slopes facing south-east stretch between 550 and 700 m above sea level, an ideal terrain for the four characteristic white wines of the Kuenhof. A balanced symbiosis between man, plant and nature forms the basis for the cultivation of this terraced vineyard. The four noble whites, Silvaner, Riesling, Veltiner and Traminer Aromatico are produced with natural yeasts in the rooms of the historically protected cellar. For this reason the wines are characterized by longevity and high pleasantness.
