Features

Garnet red color with ruby reflections. Strong varietal aroma with notes of small red fruit, cherry, with a spicy hint of white pepper and cinnamon. The wood that blends well with the other aromas is clear and recognizable. Soft and round flavor. Balanced body with medium structure. Fresh and very persistent aftertaste, with a good presence of tannins.

Vinification

Soft pressing of the grapes, spontaneous fermentation for about 15 days and malolactic fermentation in steel. Aging of the wine for twelve months in small wooden barrels of 225, 300 and 500 liters (French oak from Allier, Nevers and Vosges, depending on the vintage up to 1/3 new).

Producer

Founded in 1823 and now in its fifth generation with the current owner Alois Lageder, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation. Every action taken on the estate is inspired by a holistic and sustainable approach. This means that respect for nature takes precedence, as evidenced by the choice to practice biological-dynamic cultivation. The grapes harvested in the vineyards owned by the family (about 50 hectares) in Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno and in the area of Lake Caldaro are cultivated with biological-dynamic methods, the Lindenburg vineyard in Bolzano and the Krafuss estate in S. Michele / Appiano they are currently in conversion. The wines of the Tenutae Lageder line are made from grapes of vineyards owned by the family. To these are added those of the Alois Lageder line, typical wines vinified largely in purity, and made according to the criteria of the highest quality dear to the company.
