In 1960, 28 winemakers founded CANTINA COLTERENZIO . To these, others joined over the years, and today Colterenzio has almost 300 passionate winemakers members who give grapes from approx. 300 ha of their own vineyards. In the south of South Tyrol lies the Oltradige, a fascinating hilly landscape formed during the last ice age and dotted here and there with fascinating villages. One of the best known villages is Cornaiano on the Wine Route. Nomen est Omen - and it is precisely in this intercultural melting pot, endowed with a rich wine making tradition, that CANTINA COLTERENZIO has found the ideal place to grow its vines. Thanks to vineyards located in the best wine-growing areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina, located at an altitude between 250 and 550 meters above sea level, with different soil compositions, different microclimates and ripening stages, Colterenzio has a great natural potential. Each vine is able to find the ideal location to fully develop all its intrinsic qualities. The protection from the Alps, the 1800 hours of sunshine per year, the ventilation thanks to the winds of Lake Garda and the hot days, alternating with cool nights during the ripening period, allow the production of a wide range of grapes. of the highest quality in all vineyards. In the modern winemaking tower, equipped with innovative technologies and systems, perfectly ripe bunches are carefully collected and processed, cultivated by the 300 families of our winemakers, which will give life to wines of extraordinary quality. |
