Characteristics

Brilliant ruby colour. On the nose scents of small fruits, flowers and spices. Immediate and fresh on the palate, very fine tannins, fragrant, juicy and of incomparable pleasantness.

Vinification

The hand-picked grapes are fermented for about ten days in steel barrels at controlled temperature. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine is refined in steel tanks.

Pairings

Starters of cured meats and speck, medium-aged cheeses.

Producer

The PFANNENSTIELHOF estate in the flat valley of Bolzano has been in the hands of the Pfeifer family for about 200 years. Here, at the foot of the Santa Maddalena hill, Hannes Pfeifer, assisted by his wife Margareth and daughters Anna and Veronika, cultivates mainly Schiava and Lagrein grapes, with a focus on environmentally friendly viticulture. Hannes is undoubtedly one of the greatest interpreters of Santa Maddalena (Schiava plus a small proportion of Lagrein). A typical wine with surprising ageing potential and great drinkability. Surprising wines of absolute value to try and taste.
