Features

A Gewürztraminer with a great fruity concentration. In the glass, it has an intense yellow color with "young" greenish reflections. Aromas, especially of peaches and apricots, intertwine with exotic aromas of lychees, mango and passion fruit. On the palate its flavors are enhanced, without losing the subtlety of acidity. This prevents this wine from being too full-bodied, despite the evident concentration. A Gewürztraminer that convinces with elegant typicality and persistence.

Vinification

The bunches are lightly pressed and the must left for a few hours in contact with the skin to enhance the varietal characteristics. After a soft pressing and sedimentation of the must, it is fermented at a constant temperature of 20 ° C.

Pairings

Wonderful to be tasted in absolute solitude, it finds the most worthy combination in shellfish, in the preparation of fish of a certain structure, on foie gras and it is wonderful with Thai cuisine.

Producer

The company was founded in 1907 by the hand of Joseph Hofstatter today the great grandson Martin Foradori Hofstatter with a purely family management carries on the estate with its approximately 50 hectares of vines. The vineyards located between 250 and 800 meters above sea level in Bassa Atesina in the province of Bolzano give the opportunity to grow different varieties of grapes, both white and red. The focus is on the traditional varieties for the area: Gewürztraminer, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Nero, Lagrein and Schiava. Hofstätter wines make their origin recognized. They take on the flavor of the exposure where their grapes were born, of the soils and of the microclimate. The Gewürztraminer del Kolbenhof and the Pinot Nero Vigna S. Urbano di Barthenau are among the first wines from South Tyrol to take the name of their place of origin
