"When we started, in 1979, with 10 thousand bottles of our sparkling wine", says Josef Reiterer. In South Tyrol there was no winery that only produced sparkling wine. Sepp, as his friends call him, grew up on a farm in Meltina and began to take an interest in wine production very early on, so much so that he was one of the first students to graduate from the experimental agricultural institute of LAIMBURG . The next step for the young student who had discovered a passion for oenology was to enroll in Ahrweiler's high school. After making a name for himself in Italy as a consultant for enotechnological products, the call of home became stronger and stronger. "The 1200 meters of altitude of Meltina were ideal for the refinement of sparkling wines". Reiterer was convinced. “Furthermore, the natural temperature fluctuations of this altitude could allow a natural and peaceful aging of the wines. It takes at least 24 months to give ARUNDA sparkling wines that richness, elegance and complexity that made them famous. Some Cuvées rest in the cellar for up to 60 months before the bottles are, as per tradition, opened and sent for sale “.
