Features

Intense, black, rich, almost impenetrable color. On the nose, hints of forest fruit give way to a more evolved scent of blackberry and dried fruit and spices. On the palate tones of plum, bitter chocolate, with ripe, soft and sweet tannins. Soft, very balanced with great structure.

Vinification

The traditional maceration on the skins is accompanied by frequent and methodical soft punching down. Fermentation at a controlled temperature takes place in special steel vats. Refinement in French oak barrels follows for a minimum of 16/18 months.

Red meats, roasts, game hard cheeses.

Producer

In Mezzocorona, the winery is one of the oldest in Trentino, founded in 1863. Today it is managed by the Marco Donati family with his wife Emanuela and daughter Elisabetta. Passion and commitment pushes us to continue the family tradition in the continuous search for improvements day after day for the enhancement of a quality viticultural heritage. One of the vines to which the Donati family is historically linked is Teroldego, a native vine of the area with which the legendary "Sangue di Drago" is produced.
