Features

Ruby red color with garnet hues. On the nose, the hints of berries, plum and cherry are embellished with spicy hints. In the mouth, a pleasant backbone of freshness, whose tannins, supported by a lively acidity, are sweet and seductive. Fruity and juicy finish with evident spicy notes.

Vinification

After crushing and destemming, the must and the skins, thanks to the force of gravity, pour into the underlying barrels for a four-day cryomaceration. After a fifteen-day fermentation with attached racking, the wine rests for three days in concrete containers before being decanted into pièces (228 l oak barrels). After an aging of 11 months in the pièces, it is assembled in wooden vats. Subsequently the refinement of the wine continues first in the vats and then in the bottle.

Pairings

It goes well with first courses based on meat, game or mushrooms as well as with veal tartare and red meat or game dishes. Finally, Marjon also pairs wonderfully with savory cheeses.

Producer

Cantina Tramin is a reality that sums up all the typical characteristics of its land: the enchantment of nature and its multi-sensory suggestions, creative and productive precision towards constant quality, the ability to create a system and to cooperate. One of the oldest traditional wine cellars in South Tyrol, it is based in Termeno on the Wine Route. The owners of the winery are 300 winegrowers who work the land in the microzones of Termeno, Ora, Egna and Montagna on a total area of about 250 hectares, cradle of the Gewürztraminer vine, the true flag of these places. The winery produces an average of 1.8 million bottles every year. Award-winning over the years and constantly cited in quality rankings and international food and wine guides, Tramin is among the first social wineries in South Tyrol to have undertaken the challenge of eco-sustainable agriculture. Today we cultivate about 15 hectares of vineyards according to organic and biodynamic regulations. The goal is to soon be able to extend the abolition of the use of herbicides to all 230 hectares of cultivation, involving each individual owner personally.
